BONUS: Start Over As Many Times As You Need To
Aaliyah once said: “Dust yourself off and try again.”
So because I had to skip last week's Freewrite Friday, this week's bonus newsletter is gonna be open to all subscribers. Please consider subscribing or even gifting a subscription to someone you know who enjoys writing, journaling, and self discovery (tis the season! 🎄).
📖TURNING PAGES📖
I hate falling off the wagon. I hate when I take a break from the gym then I look up and it's been 3 months since I've worked out. I hate when I've been doing so good not ordering Ubereats then I cave and get Chipotle delivered (and a boba tea 🙃). I hate when I miss a day during my journaling challenge and fail at my responsibilities to my subscribers.
But one thing I'ma always do us try again. Hating myself and beating myself up for my mistakes and lack of discipline doesn’t get anything done. If anything, it makes beginning again even harder. I don’t have to be perfect, I just have to try. I have to make the decision to get up and put one foot in front of the other.
No matter what, keep trying. Don’t get discouraged by mistakes, rejection, failure, setbacks or even starting over with something you used to be an expert in.
You can start over as many times as you need to. Never stop trying.
💡YOUR TURN💡
Try out these prompts to encourage yourself to keep going:
What’s something you hope to accomplish before the end of the year?
Write about a time you tried something new and it really paid off (could be a career, hobby, food, sex position, anything new!)
Write about a time you were disappointed in yourself. What did you do to get you motivation back?
How will you celebrate yourself once you succeed in reaching one of your goals?
💚LAST WORD💚
“Starting here, my life begins. Starting now, I’m learning fast.” -Aaliyah (from “Journey to the Past” from the Anastasia soundtrack)
This bonus entry was written for WEEK 3 of the Finding the Right Words November Challenge under the theme of LOVE. Follow along using the graphic above and write about whatever comes to mind with the corresponding prompt. Share with me using the tag #FTRW or email me at jdoggett9 [at] gmail.
There’s no wrong way to journal. You just gotta find the right words. Happy Writing!
